Excursion to Ostrog Monastery + Podgorica

Immerse yourself in the atmosphere of Montenegro’s spiritual heritage by visiting its iconic sacred sites — the Ostrog Monastery and the Cathedral Church in Podgorica. The excursion will begin early in the morning when our guide will pick you up from your accommodation. We will travel through scenic mountain roads to the Ostrog Monastery, hidden among the cliffs and clouds. This place, significant for believers of all religions, is famous for the miraculous relics of Saint Basil of Ostrog, who founded the monastery in the 17th century

You will visit both the Lower and Upper Monasteries, see ancient frescoes and relics, and choose whether to hike up the forest trail or take transport. Pilgrims from all over the world come here to touch the sacred relics and receive spiritual purification. After visiting the Ostrog Monastery, we will head to Podgorica, where a tour of the Cathedral Church awaits you — the largest Orthodox cathedral in the country, impressive with its architecture and rich interior. On the way back to the hotel, we will make stops for photos so you can capture the beauty of Montenegro

Tour program

• 7:00 — Departure from the accommodation on the coast
• 9:00 — Arrival at Ostrog Monastery, visit to the Lower Monastery
• 9:30 — Hike to the Upper Monastery (choice between walking trail or minibus)
• 10:00 – 12:30 — Time at the monastery: visit to the relics of Saint Basil, viewing frescoes and relics
• 12:30 — Lunch at a local restaurant (optional, at an additional cost)
• 13:30 — Transfer to Podgorica
• 14:30 – 15:30 — Visit to the Cathedral Church
• 15:30 — Return with stops for photos
• 16:30 — Arrival back at the accommodation
