Incredible journey through Montenegro’s canyons: majestic gorges, mountains, and lakes

Tour program

• Start time: around 6:30 AM
• Departure location: coastal resorts, with hotel pickup option
• Transfer to the mountain areas, passing through the ancient capital of Cetinje, Lake Skadar, and Podgorica
• Optional additional excursion to Lake Skadar, Ostrog Monastery, or Podgorica (upon request)

Route

1. Morača River Canyon
   The journey starts with a visit to the picturesque Morača River gorge. The path leads through mountainous landscapes, rising to an altitude of 2280 meters, offering views of the canyon and the river flowing into Lake Skadar
2. Morača Monastery
   Visit the 13th-century monastery, known for its ancient frescoes and unique location on a rocky plateau with views of a waterfall
3. Tara River Canyon
   The journey continues through the Tara Canyon – the deepest gorge in Europe, where the Đurđevića Bridge connects its shores. You can walk on the bridge, enjoy the views, and if you wish, book a zip-line ride over the canyon
4. Lunch at the Đurđevića Bridge restaurant
   Enjoy local cuisine with views of the Tara Canyon
5. Žabljak and Durmitor National Park
   After lunch, the route continues to Žabljak, located in the heart of the Durmitor mountain range, which is a UNESCO World Heritage site. Here, you can stroll through the park and visit Black Lake, where swimming is allowed
6. Komarnica River Canyon
   The return trip passes through another picturesque canyon, the Komarnica River Canyon

Stops and photo pauses

The entire route includes stops for photos and landscape viewing, including:

• Scenic viewpoints in the Morača, Tara, and Komarnica canyons
• A walking stop on the Đurđevića Bridge
• A stop at the Morača Monastery for self-guided exploration
• Photo stops at the observation points in Durmitor National Park and by Black Lake
